April Rigging Dojo’s Artist in Residence (A.I.R) : John Hood

April 8th 10pm eastern:
John Hood – Pipeline Supervisor at Sony Pictures Imageworks

We are so happy to have John Hood as our Artist in Residence (A.I.R) for April. John is one of the few among us who is truly both a great artist and programmer.

He’ll be speaking with us about Maya UI and animation data.

Anyone that isn’t a current A.I.R subscriber and wants to join us for this single event can pay a one time fee here and you will receive an invite the day of the talk.

Bio:

John is currently a Pipeline Supervisor and TD at Sony Pictures Imageworks where he has worked on a list of films including Open Season, Beowulf, Eagle Eye, I Am Legend, Hotel Transylvania and The Smurfs.  He was an animator and lead on several games including Soul Reaver I & II, Age of Mythology, and Strangers Wrath from Oddworld Inhabitants.

Teaching credits include previously taught at Full Sail, Gnomon School Of Visual Effects, Rigging Dojo, and has given several industry classes and talks.

Check out his most recent SIGGRAPH presentation from the Got Crowds talk, covering the CrAM system. CrAM is a framework developed at Sony Pictures Imageworks to give non-technical artists creative control over crowd assets.
